Have I mentioned that improv = real life?

I read an interesting quote during the Steve-Jobs-Quote-Extravaganza that occurred immediately following his passing, in which he said (I’m paraphrasing here) that you’re going to die anyway, so what have you got to lose? Go for it!

Which made me think that probably the only things you really regret when you’re about to die are the things you wanted to do but didn’t because you were afraid to try. I could be wrong, of course. After all, I haven’t died yet and I’m blonde, so the odds aren’t exactly stacked in my favor.

But it’s already motivated me to be bolder in my choices, both in life and in improv (which are the same thing, as you know). Because really, when I’m on my deathbed, am I going to worry that I was over-the-top in an improv scene? Or am I going to be sad that I didn’t give it everything I had, in every area of my life?

I still have a lot to learn about going all-out; it’s never been my nature to be that big, bold, look-at-me kind of girl. But so far,
