1. Can I take any class I want?
All students, regardless of experience, must take the Held2gether Improv Comedy Level 1 Class before proceeding to more advanced classes. There are no pre-requisities for the the Intro to Improv Comedy 1/2-day Workshop and the Sketch Comedy Writing Lab.
2. How old do I have to be?
Unless specifically stated otherwise, students must be 18 years or older.
3. If I change my mind, can I get a refund?
As most classes are wait-listed, full refunds are only available up to 2 weeks prior to the first day of class. Those wishing to drop within 2 weeks of the first day of class may transfer to a future session. No refunds or transfers available once class begins.
4. Can I make up a class if I have to miss?
A make-up class may be offered for classes missed throughout the course, depending upon class size and availability. Make-ups are not guaranteed.
5. Is improv the same thing as stand-up?
Not even close.
6. When do I get to take Level 2?
Your Level 1 instructor will explain the requirements to you.
7. Do I need acting experience to do improv?
No. Held2gether is committed to the concept of improv for life, meaning that everyone from every walk of life can benefit from the skills of improv.
9. Can improv classes help me after I've gotten the job?
Probably. We can't do everything for you, though.
10. Can improv help with public speaking?
Definitely. We have many students who combine improv classes and Toastmasters to optimize the skills of both.
